Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

Identity theft and Slander

I am being accused of sending flowers and a Love letter to a High School teacher. I am also being accused of using somebody elses name to send these flowers. The person accusing me of this is a wife of a lawyer and she is pressing charges for identity theft, slander, harrasment. Her basis of this is a photo she took of me, and papers she stole from my house to use as identity proof and handwriting proof. I did not do any of the above, but I am afraid of all the legal terms she is throwing at me, and wondering if I need representation to protect my self. The florist sopposidly looked at the photo and said it was me. She is also trying to have me removed from the sports fields so I can not be anywhere near my childs games. I have never had any contact with the teacher in question. What do I do?

Re: Identity theft and Slander

I suppose it depends what you're being accused of and if any action is being taken against you. (Criminal charges? Restraining order?)

Should you like to discuss this or any other legal matter, you can e-mail me for more information about low cost face-to-face, on-line, or a telephone consultation with a lawyer in our office.
