Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

invasion of right of privacy, slander, libel, defamation of character?

I was being investigated by my employer for allegedly having a relationship with a co-worker. There was no hard evidence of this so my employer ''interviewed'' several staff members on the subject- it actually began to spread more rumor and speculation than ever existed from the gossip that followed. I have harassing phone calls to my family from what appears to result from this gossip.

I was interviewed- gave my statement and was terminated based on this questionable investigation. Do i have legal recourse?

Whether you have any recourse depends, among other things on what type of organization you worked for, how the investigation was conducted, and other information that is important to know in order to give you an advise. You need to consult an attorney who can evaluate your case.

You can contact our firm if you need further assistance.
