do you have to have an id to get into a bar ?

The answer is no and yes. If the owner or a bar employee has a reasonable belief that you are under the legal age for the consumption of alcohol (e.g. for boys, a high pitched voice and a smooth face; and for girls, the look of a pubescent boys) then you will be required to show proof that you are of the allowable age. In addition, the owner may require age identification if he/she has a posted minimum age for admission.
