Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York
Loews, Newburgh, NY taking advantage of their customers
We bought a item through Loews store in Newburgh, NY. When we got it home it was broken, so we brought it back the same day. They did not have the same item to match it, so they gave us a smaller version which was over four hundred dollars cheaper. They said that since we had written out a check to them, we would have to wait 7 to 15 days for our check to clear, so we could get our money back. We have waited two and a half months now, going into the store, and writing and calling everyone at Loews trying to get our money back. They informed us the other day that they now will not give our money back, but will give us store credit, which we do not want. Can they do this to us?

Keep pushing. You have proof of payment and you didn't get good service,--take it to the company headquarters until you get results.
