Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

Use of Maiden Name as Middle Name Without Legal Name Change

Hi - I am getting a degree in a few months. I want my diploma to reflect both my maiden and married names. I do not want to change my first or last name. I just want to insert my maiden name in the place where my middle name would ordinarily go. Is this legal?

Thank-you.

Yes. You can call yourself anything you want as long as there is no intent to decieve.
