Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

Paranoid NYC Transit Bus Driver starts screaming at passenger w/out provocation

I paid my fare and sat down in the front by the driver (whom I don't know). Called the MTA # to get the time that my bus was supposed to be at the last stop in the city for the sole purpose of wanting to know if friend might be able to catch bus home w/me. Driver overhears conversation then starts screaming in front of other passengers that I am threatening his job, that he had a ''feeling'' that I was going to call in a complaint that he was not following schedule. Claimed to know who I was and who my husband was and he ''knew'' what I was planning to do and that I've been calling in false reports on other drivers all the time. This is not true. Can I sue him for slander for saying these things about me? Driver admits that I did not talk to him.

Slander... no but I would report this behavior to the MTA immediately.
