Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

Privacy

I founde my name in a forum on the internet. A member of this site says he received an email from me and published this email in whole with all contact details without informing me or asking my approval. The forum is closed, so I can not find out who published this in the forum. I tried to contact the owners of the website, but they ignore my requests to remove my name from the forum.

The site is hosted in NY.

Which possibilities do I have. I guess it is illegal to copy email on internet without approval of the sender. I feel that my privacy is violated and that I have negative results from this. I'm looking for a new job, and employers offen google the name of the applicants in order to know more about them. Probably this costed me already several jobs for which I applied.
