is it true that if some one is on probation and he or she wants to become a police officer, he or she can be discharged from probation by telling his or hers probation officer that he or she wants to become a police officer?

Re: probation discharge
Not exactly. If one wants to be a police officer, and is approved for the job pending an early probation discharge, the probationer can petition the Probation officer for a early discharge. If however they say no, he can go back to the court and ask for the same relief.
Merely stating you wish to join the force, or even applying should not result in an early discharge even from the most liberal Probation officer.
Good luck.
