Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York
Searches on minors
my child is constantly stopped by a police officer in our small town and searched and handcuffed he is 15 yrs old and one time when just walking thru the town not doing anything another time when driving in a car with another minor. the police officer had searched down his pants not only patted him down but put his hands down his pants both front and back my son wears baggy pants and boxers even if he were to put something down his pants nothing could possibly stay there without falling out of his underwear/pants. the officer never found anything the first time or the second time and hand cuffs him every time this is done. he also made the comment go ahead and sue me to my son. i dont mind the car stop apparently they have did not put on directional but i do mind that that sick cop put his hands down my sons pants and groped his privites. i would not even do that if i suspected he was hiding something and i feel if he wants to search a 15 yr old he should bring him to his house and do it in front of his parents i do not trust this cop doing this to my son
