Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York
Someone spilled coffee on my laptop (2 year old Mac book pro) in Starbucks, communal table.
I have witnesses, the woman that dropped only wants to pay for the recovery of data $200 but not for the refurbishing which is $800 (only guaranteed 3 months) which is what I asked for instead of the new computer $1,200.
Do I have rights to a bigger claim?

I think some compromise on both sides is owing.
There is a certain inherent and assumption of a risk in using a public communal coffee shop table. Where the spill is accidental full assumption of liability may not be enforceable.
