Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

Unfair Firing from Job

Basically, I applied, went to orientation, and got hired with a certain hair style. After working for a couple days, I shortened some of it. A manager of the store approached me and suggested that I cut it. I spoke with the owner of the store, who has decision power, and asked him about my hair, with a witness present. He had said that my hair style was fine. I then worked for about 5 to 6 weeks later. Just a couple days ago, I was called to the office and was told that I had to cut my hair or lose my job, and a manager told me this. I refused stating that the owner had said that it was fine. The manager then fired me. Is there anything I can do about this?
