Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

Unlawful search of home for child' football

I gave no consent to enter my home to look for a football that came into my yard. The police officer pulled my door open and looked around my home, only not to find anything. Also questioned a six year old boy about it without my consent. Is he wrong ?

Re: Unlawful search of home for child' football

Yes. Without a search warrant he is not entitled to come into your home unless you invited him in. Opening the door to him can however be contstured as an ivitation.
