Is it necessary to get consent to link my site to other related sites?

It is considered an industry courtesy to seek permission first, which is usually not difficult to obtain. Let me know if you need help with this or any other Internet related matter.

There is a difference between homepage linking and "deep" linking. Generally, you may link to any homepage (i.e. www.lawguru.com) though the previous poster is correct that courtesy requires prior permission. You may not, however, absent prior permission (which should be in writing) link to a sub-page (i.e. www.lawguru.com/sub-page).
