Knockoff iPods

I know someone who bought an imitation iPod nano from Bankok. My question is since an iPod is under copyright protection by Apple Computers Inc., can I forward this iPod to the company in an effort to help them figure out who did this and sue them for it?

Re: Knockoff iPods

Whom do you want to sue?? A street merchant in Bangkok??

I would notify Apple by mail. Hold on to your evidence but send them a photo. Then wait for their response.

Good Luck.

Re: Knockoff iPods

My guess is that Apple knows who is making these knock offs, they are usually employees who make real ones during the day and knock offs after hours. I would contact Apple first and see if they care about your evidence and don't send it off to them unless you were going to otherwise throw it away. Then again, you aren't supposed to have a knock off if you know it is one.
