Legal Question in Technology Law in New York
I sent some private emails with pictures to a boyfriend. He left his email account open and someone got on and forwarded the pictures to their email and is now printing them. Do I have any legal recourse to stop what they are doing?
1 Answer from Attorneys
Your boyfriend may have legal recourse since the email account that was allegedly accessed or hacked is his. The best course of action is for your boyfriend to retain an attorney who will send a demand letter to the person doing the 'printing'. In addition, you and your boyfriend should also consult with the attorney about filing a criminal complaint.
Finally, you did not specify your age, so in the event you and/or your boyfriend are a minor then there are additional issues that need to be considered.
You and/or your boyfriend can contact my office at your earliest convenience to further discuss this matter
