Hi, I would like to start an online business and I would like to know what forms I need to fill out and where to get them in order to protect and register my business?

Re: Starting an e-commerce Business

Starting an e-commerce business requires a secure gateway and shopping cart provider, a bank account, and, if appropriate, filing of papers for formation of a corporation, partnership or limited liability corporation (if not a sole proprietor). You also should have a marketing strategy with brand development and a web page designed with search engine optimization. There are varying levels of sophistication with e-commerce businesses, so how much you decide to invest depends on your overall plan and go-to-market strategy.

This response does not constitute legal advice and there is no attorney-client relationship formed by virtue of responding to an anonymous inquiry.

Re: Starting an e-commerce Business

There are no "magic forms" pre-made for you to automatically set-up a business. I know you would like to press a button have proper legal advice instantly appear for free, but that is not reality. Just like you would seek the best surgeon you could if you needed an operation, you need a tax and business lawyer to advise you on properly setting up your business.

Online businesses actually have some issues that are more complicated than bricks and mortar stores.

I hope this helps!
