Legal Question in Technology Law in New York

webmaster responsibility

I run an website with a guestbook for comments from readers. One person keeps harping on me and threatning to expose me to the readers. I have his numerical internet provider address but the name of the person I cannot locate. While I feel its my responsibility to keep myself annomous can I get his name from someplace so I can ask that person to stop?

Re: webmaster responsibility

Why not just block him or her from accessing your site? Your acceptable use policy should deal with this situation. You need an AUP and privacy policy to deal with situations like this, among others. If you don't have either of these documents online on your site you should contact your attorney about having them drafted. If you like, give me a call: I do this for clients very often.
