College elections

Do the money = free speech caveats imposed by Buckley v. Valeo apply only to federal elections? My school is considering putting caps on campaign spending.

I would agree with the above author, however if the college is a state school the answer may not be so cut and dry. The fifteenth amendment does apply to states as does the first amendment. If the issue arises you may consult with my office about challenging the decision.

A college election (student body election) has nothing to do with the 15th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.
