Legal Question in Construction Law in New York
Condo building
I am have a construction company and I recently built a brand new Condo building which was attached to another building on one side. Before we had a chance to get a C of O and sell the apartments, the attached building was demolished along with the wall. My whole building on one side has holes all over. What should I do in this situation? Would my insurance cover this cost? Should I start a law suite against the demolition company?

Re: Condo building
We need to talk.
My colleagues and I can help with this. We have a team of lawyers who specialize in construction, land use, real estate in addition to insurance.
Things to look at:
is there a party wall agreement? There should be. If there is, it likely governs issues such as the removal of either building and the maintenance of the wall.
Did "you" receive notice of the application for the demolition permit? Such notice should have been given.
The insurance issue turns on several questions that can't be answered without a title search and a review of the policy.
Whether you would sue the demolition company, the adjoining landowner, or each and every person you can link to the project depends on what comes out of the review process.
