contractor waiver of lein
If a contractor signs a waiver of lein for services rendered, can one of the contractor's subs place a lein on my house if they are not payed by the contractor?

Yes. You can however interpose a third party complaint against the contractor using the waiver. You should never make progress payments to a contractor without obtaining from him a waiver from all the subs and materialmen covered by the payment.
