Legal Question in Construction Law in New York
In January we hired a contractor (in NY) and it took him 6 months to finally give me a sink.I am still waiting on cupboards, we went ahead and completed the other (tile). We paid him half in the beginning, since it is now October, do we still owe him the rest? Or Could we then charge him for the labor on our part? or for that matter, could we charge him storage fees for everything that has needed storage?

You have a construction dispute. You are dancing in a minefield. Retain an attorney and work with him to resolve this. Otherwise, the contractor will file a mechanic's lien and there open the gates of hell.
