Legal Question in Construction Law in New York
liens
If i type up a letter stating that all invoices are paid in full to a certain project and the vendor recieving the monies signs off. can this be held up in a court of law and can they put a lien on our customer???

NJ lien law is very fact specific, and you don't tell me enough to make comment. Invoices for what, materials? Is it residential or a commercial project? When were the goods or services last provided and when was the lien filed? In the last 8 years, I've had probably 9 out of 19 liens REMOVED because they did not properly follow the lien laws precisely. Beause it is a misunderstood area of the law (I don;t know why, but appearantly it is) you will probably have to go to an attoreny for an answer.
