Legal Question in Construction Law in New York
I am a tile setter in ny. I received a
deposit from a customer for 2500
to demo 2 bathrooms. I did the demo work and the job sat for 6 weeks waiting for the plumber and electrician to do their work. After 6 weeks I was told the job was ready. I told the customer she had to wait at least 2 weeks before I could start. She decided she did not want to wait and hired another tile setter to do the job. I did work for 4 days doing the demo. Is she entitled to her deposit back.

No. In fact, you can sue her for breach of contract.
