Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
I bought a friend a club membership as a surprise gift. Her gym membership was about to expire so I extended her membership with this purchase. She does not want to continue her membership at that gym. The gym stated that a new contract was created when i purchased the extended gym membership. I did not receive a receipt but payed with debit card. The gym will not allow her to cancel this membership/gift. What legal advice can you provide to me?

Ask the gym to show you their written practices and guidelines and whether you were provided with one at the time of purchase as a gift.
