Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York

breach of contract

We rented out a limo for a junior prom. An hour befoe the limo service was suppost to come to the pick up site it was totaled in the accident. The limo company failed to provide us with another limo. All of our reservations were ruined or we arrived really late. We had to contact multiple companies to find a limo at the last minute because there were 28 kids waitin to go to there prom. We found a company at the last minute and had the original company pay them for the new service. The new service wasn't well but we had no other choice. Some of the kids who payed to ride in the original limo wouldn't ride in the new one because it was rediculous so they're prom night was ruined. What are the possiblities since they breached the original contract?

Re: breach of contract

I am not sure what the question is asking but it seems that they should be responsible for any lost costs from reservations etc. It sounds like a small claims case, each kid who contracted with the company has his own suit. The kids may want to figure out their "real" losses (not loss of opportunity or a bad night but actual out of pocket) and negotiate as a group with the company. Pick a spokesman and give it a shot.

They can contact me for a little advice if they'd like by e-mailing me.

Good luck.
