Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
i am trying to cancel my gym membership because I can no longer afford it because my job had cut my hours and I am also haven't trouble paying my other bills and when I talked to them they said that I can't cancel my contract I even offered to pay to cancel it but they said they do not offer that. what should I do? Is there anything I can do?

Cancel your credit card. They may or may not decide to bring an action against you for the balance of your contract, but it is highly unlikely that they pursue it.

Yes. You should read NY General Obligations Law section 624. This is a statute concerning health clubs and rights of cancellation. The statute is too long to reprint in this answer.
