Can a car dealership sue me for myTitle

My estrange husband was the co-signer I was the primary owner of vehicle, estrange husband took my car to a dealer ship an tradein my car without my no one contact me about the transaction, when I found out about it I went down to the dealership to find out why they tradin my car with my authoz and that I want to see if any one had sign my name to any of the paper work they said they cant show me anything because i was not the customer, they have been harrassing me for over 1yr know they have there lawyer writing me about handing over my title this have been since 6/08 until now I have the title it have my name only on it and it was register in my name only , we do not even share the same last name what prove they had that we are husband an wife, I have no intention to hand it over

Generally, whoever is on the title is the only one who can transfer ownership of a vehicle (an exception would be if the car was repossesed). A car dealer will not take a car as a trade-in without the title. So how this was done with you retaining possession of the title is not clear.
