Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
car purchase
I had an online offer on a car. when I got to the dealership the salesman confirmed it. The finance manager said it was an error. They then claimed they made a mistake and wouldn't sell me the car. Can they do that?

Re: car purchase
You can try telling the dealer that you have a binding offer to sell the car at that price and that you will report them to the state and Better Business Bureau if they don't honor it. Of course, your position would be stronger if a lawyer reviewed the offer to confirm that it does qualify as a binding offer to sell.
