Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
Consumer Complaint
I hired a painter and gave him a $200 deposit. After 5 weeks, no work, ridiculous excuses, false promises to start, I hired another painter. I WILL be going to small claims for the deposit. Can I advertise in local penny saver NOT to hire this man because he is unreliable, undependable and skipped off with deposit ? Thank You

He might sue you for defamation and your defense costs will be in the thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars. Report it to the BBB.
