Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
consumer law
I recently had a granite countertop installed and paid the guys as they left. I kept looking at the countertop and realized it did not look right because they had cut one piece with the grain going the wrong way. I called them the next day and he tried to convince me it was done right. We called in several people, one being a kitchen designer who told us that we were right to be upset because it was cut wrong. I immediately called the granite place and told them I was putting a stop payment on the check until they fixed it. They tell me they are going to do that. Can I get into trouble for putting the stop payment on the check? What do you suggest I do? In my last bad experience with a contractor

Re: consumer law
You may get sued, in which case you will have to respond. Do not let it go into default.
