Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
A cust. did not pay for a repair on their car located in New York. He owes an amount under 3000 dollars. As the repair shop, what is the procedure to take over ownership of the vehicle so I can sell it to recoup?

You can not automatically take possession of the vehicle. You have to proceed to court immediately and bring an action to recoup your loss by judge's order.
