Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
Deleting credit card info from website
Are online vendors required to remove my credit card information from their online purchase webpage upon my request? A server (theirs, not mine) problem prevented my completing an online purchase. Their webpage shows a ''Delete {credit info}'' box, but for some reason it does not work, nor does line-by-line deletion. I asked that the vendor remove the card information I had entered themselves. They have not done so, after six weeks of communication with many of their staff, largely redirecting me to the nonfunctional ''Delete'' feature or their nonresponsive web team.

Re: Deleting credit card info from website
Presumably your information is only visible to you, and not the public, in which case only you and they can see it, so it is like a private communication.
