Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
Can a destination wedding planner sue me in Florida if the contract was negotiated while I was in New York but if the wedding was done in Florida?

She can file suit. That does not mean that a Florida court will have personal jurisdiction over you. Some lawyers will say that you can safely ignore the Florida lawsuit because you will have notice and an opportunity to defend when they "domesticate" the judgment in New York, I advise moving to dismiss the Florida lawsuit for lack of jurisdiction and then sue them in NY for breach of General Business Law 349. That usually makes this kind of nonsense go away.
