Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York

My macbook has a graphic card failure which Apple admited their faulty and they are offering free repair. However, they are rejecting my right to get the repair because I've repaired my macbook myself before, which they say is against their policy.

But my point is, if I was informed that my macbook will break down one day, I wouldn't have repaired my macbook myself. I was never informed, especially when I purchased it, that my product have a secret problem which will cause this much problem.

I've tried everything I can do to get the free repair which I dserve, but the results are not very satisfying so far.

A simple law fact about this case will be very helpful.

Thank you for your time.

Although I have not read Apple's warranty for its Macbook, I suspect it has language whereby tampering with the computer voids the warranty. You are probably out of luck.

Mike.
