Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
What do to when you are being taken for everything by a Manufactured Housing sel
Last June I finalized the purchase on a new manufactured home in a relatively new manuf.home community. Several promises, none of which are in writing, were made about the lot my home was placed on, the condition inside the home, and so on. 11 Months later, I am paying for a lot that is not even safe for children or adults in an unfinished careless community. My home still hasn't been finished inside, and the last time the workers were in they ruined a few hundred dollars worth of my stuff. I don't believe I should have to pay for all of this, yet I have been paying nearly $300 per month for this unlivable lot alone! I want to get an attorney and get some changes made, but I'm not even sure if I have a legal leg to stand on, and would appreciate advise, guidance and assistance.

Re: What do to when you are being taken for everything by a Manufactured Housing
A great deal will depend upon what is written
in your contract of purchase/construction
The same may be true as to the lot lease
Each would have to be reviewed to determine whether
there are "gaps" which would permit oral testimony
to supplement these contracts and therefore give
you a basis for litigation
You will need to have an attorney first review those
documents before a proper answer may be given
