Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
Online ticket purchase
To whom it may concern,
Two days ago I purchased tickets to a Houston Astros game for 6/14/2008 through an online ticket broker. I purchased the (8) tickets for $25 each ($22 face value) plus a 15% service fee ($30) along with $15 2-day shipping for a total of $245.00. I printed out the confirmation screen with all of this information. When I got a confirmation email, they are saying that I purchased the tickets for $125 each not $25. Hopefully the situation will resolve itself today, but I don't have a lot of confidence that it will. I reside in NY, the online broker is based in CT and the ultimate broker that is fulfilling the order is based in TX. As far as I know, I am completely protected by the fact that I have the print out, but nobody wants to admit that I am in the right here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Online ticket purchase
If your dispute does not resolve itself through discussion with the broker, your best recourse will be to initiate a chargeback with your credit card company. Your printout should be sufficient evidence that you were charged more than the amount you authorized.
