Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York

Press inquiry: Looking for advice on reading legal docs for an article tomorrow. What are the most important things you have to look for in general? For example, with insurance policies, renter's agreements, job contracts, and all other kinds of docs we get too much of and don't have time to read.

Do you have any advice or tips for understanding legal documents and skimming them?

Each of these kinds of contracts is very different. Even within insurance, there is property insurance, liability insurance, auto insurance; rental agreements there are leases, licenses, and other deals.

#1 if you don't have time to read before you sign, you will find lots of time to read and regret when the deal goes south.

#2 See #1.
