Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
If I put a down payment on a new car and my loan get rejected, can I get my down payment back?

It depends on the contractual language used when you gave the deposit. If the deposit is non-refundable, the answer would be no. If the contractual language makes the deposit contingent on you obtaining a loan, then the answer would be yes.
