Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
Returning a used card from dealer
Hi,
We would like to know if we can still return a certified used car purchased from a dealer. I signed the contract 9/23. We found out later that there are so many defects in the car and we just wanted to return it. We are open to the possibility that the dealer will deduct money from our downpayment and we are fine with that as long as the deduction/penalty is reasonable.
Also if ever the contract will be cancelled, will this affect our credit score?

There is a three day recission period. After that, the contract is enforceable. If it is a certified used car from the dealer, it is covered under warranty, and the lemon law.
