Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
I stayed at hotel past weekend. Had DO NOT DISTURB sign hanging and have requested front desk to ask housekeepers to stop knocking at door trying to come in. However monday once we got out to eat they went in, ignoring DND sign, and now have a ring missing. What can we do? Hotel doesnt seem very worried about it. I opned a case with local police department. Isnt it tresspassing?

No. You can sue the hotel for theft, but it wiill be tough to prove.
