Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
Can I sue for travel expenses to and from small claims court?
I would like to bring a small claims suit against an individual who lives approx. 150 miles away from me, in the same state(NY)...The amount the defendant owes me would be overshadowed by the travel expenses- can I add travel expenses to the value of my suit?

No, that generally would not be considered part of your damages (although some statutes permit recovery of costs).
