Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
water bill
I just found out that my house needed a water meter. I was told by my town that i will recieve a water bill for the last 6 years. i thought all along that water was coming out of my taxes. This doesn't seem fair, since the town plumber is also my plumber and was at my house a number of times and never told me i need a meter. thank you

Re: water bill
How is the town going to determine how much water you used, if any, for the last 6 years. If they could, the amount could be very high.
See if they bill you, and then get back to me.
In the meantime, make certain that a water meter is installed.
