Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
Wedding Botique suddenly closed
I purchased and ordered a wedding gown when i called to get a status on my order the phone number was disconnected. Come to find out the shop was seized because of the owner not paying her taxes, the taxation dept. had no encouraging words and i want my money or my dress, what can i do?

That is horrible. Legally, you can purchase another dress and commence an action against the business for breach of contract. However, I think that will be of little help - especially considering nonpayment of taxes.
You should also try to contact NYS Attorney General, consumer frauds bureau. Maybe that agency will be able to help.
