Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York
I'm 16 and was caught shoplifting $67 worth of stuff at target in Ny and I was with my mom and they made her sign a paper and said they won't arrest me because I'm a minor and the bill of $67 will come on the mail. I'm just wondering does this go on my record? And in the mail I got a letter saying I owe them about $500, what would happen if my mom doesn't pay that? I've never done anything like this before
