Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Account frozen after judgement vacated

In 06 my account was frozen for a judgement from 99. The judgement was vacated. Yesterday, the same lawyer firm froze my account again on the same judgement that was vacated 2 years ago. Can they do that? I want to file a complaint. Isn't there a statue of limitations on collecting on old accounts?

Re: Account frozen after judgement vacated

You cannot freeze an account if the Court vacated the Judgment. You can file a complaint with the local bar association. A Judgment lasts for 20 years, and is a lien against real property for 10 years.
