Account Purchased by Collection Agency
Today I received a letter stating an account of mine was purchased by a collection agency. The account dates back to at least 1989 (when I lived in New York). I've read on this website that the statute of limitations is 6 years for collection. What about when the account is purchased by a collection agency?

The same. The debt is stale and they cannot enforce it.
