Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Answering A Complaint

If I know I owe the debt, but I can't afford a settlement, is it better to admit to everything on the complaint, or should I deny the part were they state what I owe, (stating its lack of information), in a way to prolong the hearing, in hopes to have enough money to settle by then?
