can i be arressted for not paying back a pay day loan

Under normal circumstances, a debtor cannot be placed in prison for failing to pay a debt. The US got rid of debtors prisons long ago. Moreover, if a debt collector threatens a debtor with prison, (s)he may have violated the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.
