What is the procedure before repossession of a vehicle. ie: Is the lien holder required to first notify the debtor in writing before taking this action?

Re: Auto Repossession Warning
Your notification is that you owe the debt. You had most likely been advised in writing that you owe it. If you failed to pay, your the owner's property gets taken back.
You have a right of redemption, i.e., a chance to get the car back. Read the notices that you are being carefully to see how to exercise this right.

The documents you signed waive your right to notice if you fall behind in your payments. However, you still have a right to pay the back payments and get the car returned to you.
