Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Bad Check

I received partial payment in amount of $500.00,check was returned for Insufficient Funds. I tried to collect by way of telephone, but subject was not willing to make amount of check good, plus the fees I occured by his check being returned. what legalproceedure can I relate to this person.

a debtor-creditor action is the 'legal' procedure to enforce a judgment. good luck.
